Kgalagadi Black-maned Lion

A male lion lazily wakes up after a long hot day spent in the shade of a thorn tree.

Late afternoon in the Kgalagadi is a good time to look out for male lions starting to prepare for the nights activities. If you have spotted them during the day under trees, its a good bet they will still be in the close vicinity in the early evening.
